The Practice is closed on Saturday's, Sunday's and Bank Holidays. 



When We Are Closed

Please telephone the surgery on the usual number (01924 334451) and you will automatically be diverted to the relevant service providing out of hours cover.  They may be GP Care or NHS 111.  Alternatively you can contact NHS 111 directly by dialling 111 from your phone.
 



NHS 111

This is a 24 hour health advice line, staffed by nurses and health information advisors.  The telephone number for this service is 111.  You can also visit NHS Choices online at www.nhs.uk which offers a range of information from what to do if you’re feeling ill to opening times of your late night pharmacy.  All telephone calls to this service are recorded.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.



Walk In Centre

NHS Wakefield District Walk-In Centre is at 47 King Street, Wakefield, WF1 2SY.  King Street is just off Cliff Parade, and is a few minutes walk from Wakefield Westgate train station.  It is open seven days a week including Christmas Day and New Year's Day.  Opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 10am - 8pm



Accident and Emergency (A&E)

A&E departments assess and treat patients who have serious injuries or medical emergencies. Generally, you should visit A&E or call 999 for problems such as:

  • Loss of consciousness
  • Persistent, severe chest pain 
  • Severe shortness of breath 
  • Heavy bleeding 
  • Head injuries 
  • Suspected broken bones.

If you're injured or seriously ill, you should go, or be taken, to A&E. If an ambulance is needed you can call 999.
